The CompEx Ex01-Ex04 course is an intensive training course that combines theoretical and practical training for electrically trained personnel working on installing, inspecting and maintaining electrical equipment in explosion-hazardous atmospheres.

JTLimited, the largest work-based learning provider of electro-technical crafts persons in the Construction Sector in the UK, develop, initiate, operate and manage the scheme provision, with a CompEx Scheme committee whose members consist of representatives from all relevant parties, overseeing all aspects of the scheme. JTLimited also act as the Certification Body for the scheme.

Learning Objectives

Upon attending the course, in order to safely perform their work, participants will have the knowledge of the laws and regulations as well as their tasks, full knowledge of the protection methods, equipment being used, specific Ex constructions, and the practical means and skill to perform the tasks at hand.

Working safely in this regard focuses special attention to securing the installation, performing or overseeing gas measurements, and dealing with work permits. The candidate is then able to guarantee that the work has been performed in accordance with the requirements that apply to Ex-installations.

Certificate

A Certificate of Competence, valid for 5 years, will be issued to all successful candidates.

Target Audience

The course is aimed at electro-technical and crafts persons who need to develop and demonstrate their competency in the selection, installation, inspection and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment and apparatus in explosion-hazardous atmospheres, through an internationally accredited, certificated competency validation scheme.
